This log documents a crucial phase of subtractive refinement and re-composition. I critically identified that my previous version had become “chaotic” (杂乱无章) and was suffering from a “stacking of design elements” rather than a cohesive design. This led to a deliberate “curation” (取舍), where I deleted many components and selected only a few of my strongest, most-liked parts to serve as the core elements. This curation, however, revealed that these ‘keeper’ parts, while strong in concept, were still aesthetically “too flat” and “lacked detail” as my previous print tests had confirmed. Therefore, I re-designed them, specifically adding “carving and hollowed-out” details (雕刻和镂空) to make them more three-dimensional and achieve the “organic, skeletal effect” they required. This was followed by another long and difficult “arrangement process” (排列过程), trying many combinations, as shown in the images, to find a final composition that was both complex and harmonious.
