At this stage, I experienced a creative block with the necklace design (“没灵感了”), so I productively pivoted my focus back to refining the doll. I used this time to conduct deeper, more specific research into bone structures, moving beyond human anatomy to reference the forms of “different animal bones.” This new research, combined with an analysis of the structural and decorative qualities of “Buddha statues,” allowed me to sculpt the doll, particularly the head and headpiece, to a much higher level of “exquisite” detail. This pivot was not a distraction but a crucial period of research and refinement that significantly advanced the doll’s final design while I waited for new ideas for the necklace to emerge.
